Vintage Priestley & Moore Antler Handle Carving Set - Sheffield, England c1950/60

This is a truly magnificent vintage carving set, presented in its original case. The set comprises a carving knife and a carving fork, both featuring authentic antler handles that exude timeless elegance and a touch of rustic charm. The knife blade, crafted from superior Firth Stainless Steel, is not only marked "Priestley & Moore Ltd Cutlers & Silversmiths Sheffield-England" but also proudly displays "Hand Crafted" below the Firth Stainless marking, highlighting the exceptional quality and traditional forging methods used. The fork is also clearly marked "Stainless Steel".

The carving knife features a sharp, serrated edge, perfect for effortlessly slicing through roasts and other meats, while the robust fork is designed to secure your joint for precise carving. Although the knife and fork are in excellent condition, showing very little wear, it's worth noting that the original knife sharpening steel is unfortunately missing. The dark brown presentation case, with its luxurious velvet lining and cream satin interior, is in very good condition, exhibiting only the expected signs of its age.
