RARE VINTAGE PROTEA MATCHES IN THE BIG WOODEN BOX.

Very Old Matches, still in its Original Wooden Box.

It is a Full Box of Long Matches bought during 1955 (70 years ago.

No match was ever struck on the flint of the box -see photos.

These original matches are all still dry & strong and their sulphur tips are solidly in place, it has been stored in a dry place over all these years.

I am almost 100% sure that, after all these years, it should strike and fire normally, because it is a Protea Match from The Lion Match Company's quality from yesteryears.

The Wooden Box Measurements: -
Length 57mm X Width 37mm X Thick 25mm.

The Wooden Matches' Measurements: -
Length 49mm - Normal size of today's matches is 41mm.

These are surely Rare & Collectable matches from The Lion Match Company Ltd, which Company was established in 1905.
