Vintage PYE (Made in England) Valve Radio

This valve radio is reminiscent of yesteryear of times before the advent of television - evoking memories of evenings spent by the family huddled together around the radio catching up with the latest news or listening to their favorite stories. The face lights up when it is switched and towns/cities marked on the face where the frequencies were found where they submitted from. The radio is in working condition, the speakers are working - I can hear sound but the aerial is missing so reception is poor and I am sure with an aerial one could easily emulate the good old days :) It is quite a large radio, 50cm wide, 28cm tall and 22.5cm from front to back and weighing a sturdy 11.2kg. A bit of the veneer on the body has come off, nothing too serious and I notice a small split in the rubber that surrounds the face of the radio.
