VINTAGE REAL LILAC/BLUE IOLITE IN STERLING SILVER RING. A solid 5,2 grams!

BEAUTIFUL IOLITE GEMSTONE SET IN STERLING SILVER 925

Iolite is a fascinating gemstone, often confused with tanzanite because of its beautiful blue/lilac colouring. This is a pretty ring with a particularly nice gemstone. It sparkles beautifully. Not sure how old it is but distinctly vintage. I like how it feels - nice and solid! The photograph could be a bit tricky as the light is playing on the surface. The silver band goes all the way around from the stone and then the strands containing the clear stones are part of that band.It's not cut through. Not sure what the small stones are. They look very much like marcasites but could be clear topaz. 

There are fascinating tales and beliefs attached to the iolite stone. Ancient mariners apparently used it as a compass as they noticed the stone changed hue through the range of violets and lilacs when held to the northern and southern skies.

Spiritually, iolite is the stone to help discover the lost or deeper parts of your nature. It is also a powerful stone when trying to rediscover past lives.
