This vintage Record Duplex Rabbet Plane is in fantastic condition and it comes the depth gauge.

 

The difference with this plane is that the blade has been prepared for use as a Scrub Plane blade i.e., it is curved or has a radius. The blade needs final sharpening though.

 

Why use a No. 78 as a Scrub Plane, well check out Paul Sellers, articles and videos on his recommendations for this (a recommended video is How to turn a No.78 into a Scrub Plane on YouTube). I have 2 blades for my No. 78 one is a conventional blade, the other is a scrub blade. The scrub blade works incredibly well.
