This Ronson "Decanter" model is a collectible, silver-plated figural table cigarette lighter featuring an ornate base with a berry and leaf pattern or Victorian-inspired detailing.
The design is Art Deco, first introduced around 1936 and produced into the 1950s. Made by Ronson (The Art Metal Works) the lighter features a spring-loaded handle mechanism and an ornate base. It was made by the renowned brand Ronson, with versions made in the USA and Toronto. Ronson (The Art Metal Works), a company founded by Louis V. Ronson.
The model was introduced around 1947-1950 and manufactured through the late 1950s. Its original use was as a functional wick-style table lighter, primarily for lighting cigarettes or cigars. Would make a lovely addition to a table with candles, adding some vintage charm. This can further be enhanced when the candles and the lighter are placed in a plated tray. Made in the US, 1950s.
Condition: The lighter is in working condition, you would need to fill your own gas. Age related wear from continuous use.
