Description: Vintage Roslyn Fine Bone China Pastel Pink Cream And Sugar Set.
Exquisite pattern featuring a pastel pink stippled ground (also known as a pink sponged or stippled finish), with a shimmering 22k gold stencilled filigree and ornate scrolling overlay.
Stately mid-century silhouette. Delicate, translucent English bone china body. Bright gold-gilded ornate handle and trim bands.
Did you know that the distinct stippled or "sponged" pink paint texture on this set was a highly specialized, artisan technique used by English potteries to give the porcelain a deep, textured look? Manufactured by Roslyn China (formerly Reid & Co.) at the historic Park Place Works in Longton, Staffordshire, England, this stamp directly dates the set between 1946 and 1963.
While many makers relied on basic white porcelain, Roslyn's premium textured all-over colour ground patterns were produced in much smaller batches, making this pink stippled finish a marvellous find for collectors of rare fine English tea items.
Original Intended Use: Elegant high-tea cream and sugar service.
Made in England, Circa 1950s.
Condition: Excellent structural vintage condition. The gold filigree is wonderfully bright with no chips, cracks, or post-production crazing.
Visible Flaws: One tiny, pinpoint-sized black mineral speck embedded under the glaze inside the open sugar bowl. This is an original kiln-firing factory inclusion (natural iron or mineral spot from production) rather than post-purchase damage or staining.
