DESCRIPTION:
A white glazed bone china tea cup, decorated with transfer-printed and hand-painted sprays and
garlands of purple violets and green leaves on a cream ground, gilt edged rims and detail to ear.
This is the original Sweet Violet pattern and should not be confused with the later Sweet Violets.
MARKS:
Stamped in grey with Royal Albert, a Crown, Bone China, England and
"Sweet Violet". Hand-written pattern number 2711 and artist's mark.
CONDITION:
No chips or crazing, with hairline to bottom of ear and slight rubbing to gilt.
DIMENSIONS:
Approximately 8cm diameter X 6.5cm height.
