These type of lamps were used in the the mines as well as by the Railways. Carbide was placed in the bottom container whilst water was dripped on it from the top tank. The gas that was formed escaped through a nozzle and then lit to provide a blue burning flame. The locking screw of this unit seems to be modified. Made by Radiator Bulawayo, this unit has a diameter of 95 mm and is about 220 mm tall. Not sure if it is still in working order. As per photos.
