Vintage SAR/SAS signal lantern. This lovely old metal lantern is a grey colour, with brass clips. It opens on the side, and the top handle twists to change the light from red to green to clear. I would estimate that the lamp is from the 1930's. SAR/SAS is engraved on the inside of the front relector. The lamp is in good condition for its age, but does not have a burner. A lovely item for the collector of railwayana.
