Vintage SAS Immortelle cast iron plaque. I would date this plaque to the 1970/80s. South Africa's first Permanent Force Navy, the SA Naval Service, was established on 1 April 1922. One of the first 3 ships purchased, was a minesweeping trawler the HMSAS Immortelle. The ship is still in commission. The plaque is made from cast iron on an oak backing board. It measures 19cm x 14cm, and is in very good condition. Great buy for the collector.
