Vintage Schweppes Wordon and Pelgan Mineral Walter Historial Cape Town bottle and crate collection.

Good day on auction I am selling my personal collection of:

Vintage Schweppes Wordon & Pelgan Soda & Mineral Water  Historial Rondebosch Cape Town bottle & crate collection

Was R6999.99 now R4999.99 which is way less than what it has cost me to collect over 15 years. 

This collection ranges from early 1900s or even before i.e. the late 1800s.

The Pelgans company were based in Rondebosch, Cape Town during the late 1880s and received their water from the Albion Springs from the lower side of Devils Peak, Table Mountain. SAB still source there water today from this same spring for their distillery in Newlines which was the Ohlssons Brewery before then.

Pelgans later became Wordon & Pelgans and then in the 1930s Schweppes bought them out and took over the same bottling plant in the mid 1930s.

  The bottles all have the Pelgans, Wordon & Pelgans & Schweppes branding from over the years up to I estimate 1950s. The original SCHWEPPES branded syphon bottle wooden CRATE BOX is the only crate I have ever seen in all my years of collecting and picking. Seen in the photo the one of three 1 litre bottles still has its original paper label from the 1930s-1940s. Two of the bottles spouts are engraved with Schweppes.

There are THREE x large Syphon 12 bottle Crate Size: 37cm long x 33cm wide x 24cm high

 I do not think that anyone or anywhere in South Africa including the Coca Cola company SA has an example of a collection like this in their archive. This is truly a museum quality collection.
