This lovely, large, oval white metal or silver locket has a motif of a Scottish thistle attached to the front. The back has a framed glass insert which fits firmly into place, covering a compartment for either a photograph or lock of hair. There are no hallmarks or stamps on either the locket or chain, so both were tested for silver. There were some signs of silver in the reading, but the test was not conclusive (possibly a low percentage of silver), hence our description (white metal or silver). The pendant measures 5.6cm (incl. the hangar) x 3.3cm x 1.5cm and the chain measures 60cm in length. Together they weigh 52g. Other than the attached thistle being slightly loose, both are in good condition.
All my jewellery is checked by a jeweller in regards to condition (claws, catches, pins etc.) as well as cleaned and polished before listing.
