VINTAGE BALTIC AMBER STERLING SILVER RING 
BEAUTIFULLY MADE SCROLL DESIGN. 925

This vintage piece has an 'olde worlde' feel; a natural Baltic amber cabochon is bezel set in sterling silver and the oval of the amber is then surrounded by scroll designs reminding one of the heraldry designs in coats of arms. The ornate and tactile detailing is accentuated by the darkening of the silver around the whorls and leaves. There is some openwork between the bezel and the frame, which makes it look as if the oval amber is floating in the middle. A slender silver shank supports the 15mm wide x 23mm long ring head, which raises 6mm above the finger. The gorgeous honey-hued amber is flecked with inclusions that provide interest and depth. It is a reasonable size extending 23mm up the finger and is a good solid piece, weighing in at 4,61 grams. It bears the 925 hallmark for sterling silver and although vintage, has only minor buff marks on the silver to show for its age.
