BEAUTIFUL LITTLE VINTAGE MARCASITE AND SEED PEARL STERLING SILVER EARRINGS

I brought these dainty and very pretty little vintage sterling silver earrings in from London. Not sure how old they are as there are no date hallmarks. They have an unusual design, with an outer oval shape encompassing a smaller oval shape that sits in the uppermost of the top inner curve of the outer oval, allowing a curved openwork sliver to cup the inner oval at the bottom. They are made out of solid sterling silver that has acquired a distinct vintage patina. The double ovals each feature a row of round cut champagne real marcasites, claw set in in a band between rows of delicate, raised, nubbed silverwork that frame the inside and the outside of the ovals. The centre of the smaller oval holds the focal point - two creamy, lustrous little seed pearls that sit vertically, one above the other, their 3-dimensionality as well as their colour contrast making them pop. The earrings measure a fairly dainty 14,7mm in length x 11,2mm wide. The earrings bear the 925 hallmark indicating sterling silver and weigh 3,2 grams together. An elegant vintage statement!
