Vintage Shelton No. 4 block plane - US. Pat. No. 1914609. I would date this old USA made plane to the 1930s. It is manufactured from cast iron with rosewood knob. It has a thumblever o a long screw type adjuster on the lever cap, which was considered an improved mechanism for adjusting the cutter blade in which the number of parts have been reduced. The plane measures 17.5cm x 5cm, and is in good condition. Great buy for the woodworker.
