This set feels of high quality with substantial weight adding to their luxurious feel. Victorian style dating back to early 1900's but cannot be sure exactly - I don't see any specific dates anywhere. Perfect for any collector or lover of antique porcelain or silver items. Monopoli looks to be a well known Italian porcelain company that creates a plethora of sets. Limited knowledge of these kind of pieces and I can't seem to find any specific info on this set online other than an eBay listing(screenshot added above) matching this exactly for $650 per set of 4 cups & 2 saucers. Other similar sets in brass etc. go for as low as R350. I do not have any interest in such pieces so selling as is for lower than any price I can find.

Saucer: Crown & 800 hallmarks under saucer - 88g
Cupholder(without porcelain cup) : Markings under cupholder (Made in Italy & 800) - 90g
Porcelain cup has marking "48" and "Monopoli" with logo on the bottom.
Since so many people are asking, NO I have not tested this set which would mean a destructive test. I do not have any further first hand info therefore selling as a silver plated item(indicated by the starting price). Other than what I can physically see (logos and markings), 3 out of 4 buyers have tested on their own which came back positive for silver and one buyer said it's not. That's here-say to me so I'm happy to give the next person a luck and start bids lower than any price I've found even for brass or silver plated sets. Please do not bid if you're going to rate me neutral/negative for something I have no knowledge on and specifically mentioned is outside of my expertise, especially when it's being bought for so cheap from me. If you melt this down and it's solid silver(over R3000) I'm happy for you but if not, then the onus is on you as I have not sold it as such despite what the markings say. I'm selling it for the piece that it is and not it's silver content.
