Vintage shell-form spoon warmer with hinged lid
Description
Unique vintage spoon warmer in the shape of a stylised shell with a hinged top and a small notch for resting serving spoons. The shell sits on a decorative base and opens to a recessed interior where warm water or a heated insert would be placed to keep spoons warm before serving. The lid and base suggest mid-20th century production; base is engraved with pattern number 9136, a factory design/model number rather than a hallmark.
Material
Silver-tone metal, likely plated or chrome finished (unmarked and untested).I cant see any markings. The item is heavy so would think its not chrome
Size
Approx. 18 x 14.5 x 10cm
Condition
Good vintage condition with light surface wear and scratches from age.Hinged lid functions normally.Slight dent on the one side.
Use & appeal
Collectible and decorative, perfect for vintage tableware displays, tea/coffee station styling, or kitchen décor. A charming conversation piece for collectors of retro dining accessories and novelty metalware.
