Vintage silver plated silent butler crumb box. I would date this little silent butler to the 1940s.A silent butler is a small receptacle with handle and hinged cover used for collecting ashes and crumbs. It has a wooden handle and stands on four paw feet, and has an engraved lid has a double flower thumbpiece. It has 21 and 42 marked under 2 of the feet and inner rim, and measures 10cm x 7cm (excluding handle). It is in good condition - has a little plate wear. Great buy.
