Awesome condition and working
Model 221K1 - dated 1951
This awesome example of a Singer Featherweight 221K1 portable sewing machine is in excellent condition and comes in the original case, with the original foot pedal and accessories.
The Singer date chart dates the serial number (EG347184) to 1951.
The machine is in a working condition. I am not one for sewing so I did not play around with stitches, settings or adjustments, but the motor runs well, it stitches smoothly and the lamp works.
The drive belt is in excellent condition, not cracked or perished. Cosmetically the machine looks great and the mechanism looks fairly clean.
Even for a machine in this condition, a service or at least a good cleaning and oiling would be preferable before it being put to use.
Being a highly desirable British made model, these iconic machines fetch around $450 in the overseas market. You can not go wrong with this machine at the listed low price!
