Vintage Singer Sewing machine - Electric
58 years old - I was able to exactly date it to being made in the Kilbowie Factory in Clydebank, Scotland, allotted on the 24/9/1952 !!
Model Number 99K EH573505
This Machine was my Mother's and she made all our clothes on it as children (boy, does that age me, lol ) It still goes and was kept in running order and always serviced regularly. It was originally a hand crank model and was converted to electrical and a foot pedal added to make my Mom's sewing tasks easier (or so the story goes, I have no reason to doubt it) This would have been done professionally, not by my Dad, lolllllllllll. Obviously it does not have all the functions that machines have today, but is still a beautiful sewing machine. It is a beautiful rich colour and I believe the wood is "Bentwood" and is a very sturdy machine and has all it's foot attachments and most of it's other bits and bobs.
Has a ding in the domed Bentwood lid, please see pic - This can be easily fixed with some wood putty, and where the lid clips in on the one side it is broken off, this too can be easily fixed. It still has the original key to lock the lid down. Also in the 4th picture here, you can see how the first part of the "Singer" name has, over time, been worn off.
This is a gorgeous collectible that still works.
NB: This will have to be collected due to it's weight ( +- 15 kilos)
