A lovely old piece of wood for anyone who’s in the market for a classic writing desk, but doesn’t want to pay mahogany prices. This piece features linenfold edges, skirt, cabriole legs, and ball-and-claw feet. There are two single drawers on the piece; the lower being 72cm wide, and the upper 63cm wide. Both drawers are 11cm deep. The lock on the fallfront turns easily, and the key is available. The pull-out fallfront strut supports have turned wooden knobs, and are topped with green baize. There is also a decorative pediment backboard to the display shelf. The interior of the desk is in pristine condition, and boasts a number of pigeon holes of various shapes and sizes. Overall, this desk is 80cm wide, 45cm deep and 110cm high (the outward curve of the legs adds another 3 – 4cm to the width and the depth).

There are some superficial scratches, but these do not detract from the attractiveness of the piece, and structurally it is extremely sound. If the scratches bother the new owner, a very light sanding will suffice to erase them.
