The key shows that the piece was meant for export
The lion with a roman numeral 2 is for silver of minimum purity 835 parts per 1000
Minerva's head is the duty mark. The "M on the helmet shows the town where the item was assayed, in this case Schoonhoven
The date letter "C" is for 1937
There is also a lion hallmark on the front of the hull of the ship and an unidentified makers mark elsewhere on the rim
The length is 10.5 cm.
The diameter, from rim to rim is 6 cm.
The diameter of the strainer is 4.1 cm.
The bowl is 2 cm deep.
The weight is 23 gm.
Please note: I am selling this together with the porcelain stand, which is of course not part of the original piece. However, the bowl of the strainer fits the bowl of the egg cup perfectly.
By the way, the egg cup is from over the border, Germany, and is vintage Hutschenreuther, collectable in its own right.
