"The first ruggedized Sony radio, weatherproof and shock-resistant. Nicknamed "Solid State Sports 11". Memorable for its army green and black color scheme. This radio is made to withstand outdoor use, with a durable plastic case and sturdy antenna built into the handle. For better protection against impact in case the unit is hit or dropped, the controls are inset. The tuning meter features an LED-illuminated dial needle. "
Condition:
Its in fair condition, missing the aerial, just a little piece of wire in there at the moment , despite that it still works well. Cosmetics is a bit rough , AM/FM/SW band selector knob is not there, some screws missing, light works, red tuning strength LED works, volume and tuning knobs all functioning nicely, battery compartment looks fine - no signs of any battery leaks.
Crackles if you move it around, might be a loose connection inside, but once its on a stable surface and tuned in it plays perfectly. Despite the aerial being missing it still picks up all the avail radio channels very strongly, I only tested it on FM though. Sound is nice and clear, its loud for what looks like a 3" speaker.
