Vintage Stahly Live Blade razor (USA, Circa 1960)

Thi is a vintage Stahly Live Blade Safety razor made in the USA around the 1960's.  These razors were famous for having a wind up  vibration motor inside the handle. The handle and head are all metal. The vibration motor still works perfectly. The tiny springs built into base plate oof the head are still in great condtiion, and the top plate is in excellent condition. Overall this razor is in great shape considering the age. You crank the handle a few times and it sets off the vibation motor. This lasts for a few minutes.

The idea behind the vibrating razor was that it would pass over bumps and defects in the skin easier. However, these razors are built very solidly, and many report gettting a great shave even with the vibration motor off. 

The razor has been cleaned and polished and is ready to shave! This is a unique piece of shaving history.  You can see the Stahly Live razor in action here
