Description: Vintage T.G. Green "Cane & White" Gripstand mixing bowl.
This Extra-Large Size 6 model featuring rare double-handled tab rim has a heavy-gauge English earthenware body. Its beautifully moulded exterior wall panels feature traditional diamond-and-elliptical-arch relief work with a glossy, opaque milk-white interior glaze liner.

Manufactured at the historic Church Gresley pottery in Derbyshire, England, this massive 36cm statement bowl features the patented wedge-sided 'Gripstand' base profile.
This specialized shape allows a baker to securely tilt the bowl completely on its side, stabilizing it on the countertop for hands-free whisking or heavy dough kneading.
The printed backstamp bearing Patent No. 491517 directly establishes this as an authentic early post-war piece from the late 1930s to the 1950s.
Finding these massive workhorse basins with clean, reflective interior glaze lines is exceptionally rare, making it an elite investment piece for kitchen collectors and professional culinary set stylists.
Original Intended Use: Large-scale household bread dough kneading, fruitcake mixing, and holiday pudding preparation.

Condition: Very good antique structural condition with remarkable structural integrity. No deep cracks, hairline fractures, or structural repairs. The white glazed interior is beautifully reflective and free of dark grey metallic whisk track scoring.
Visible Flaws: Minor age-related wear.
The upper inner rim lip features a historic, decades-old chip that has naturally smooth-edged and yellowed to a deep caramel patina over time, alongside a minor original white kiln-glaze slip miss from factory production.
