This is a vintage Tissot quartz watch from 1970's with a caliber 2030 quartz movement also called the TV watch because of its shape. The 2030 movement was also used in the Tissot Seaster range and later upgraded to the 2031 movement. This was to be the first in house quartz invention from Tissot as far as there venture into quartz watches was concerned as before this they were using Omega movements. Its an elaborate movement in a big 10 micron electro gold plated case measuring 40mm including crown, 45mm lug to lug and 12mm thick. A new thick tan leather strap has been fitted as well as a new battery. I have worn it a few times to get a feel of it and check its timekeeping. It runs well and timekeeping is what you expect from a good quartz watch. Not only does it have an elaborate movement but it also has an elaborate setting system if you pull the crown out the hour hand spins and the date changes as it passes the 12 after a 24 hour spin, setting the minutes is a push stop system.
This watch is in very fine shape for its age and works great. Watch is all original including the crown but barring the strap, this watch was released with a gold plated metal strap but the one on this watch had come in to contact with something that caused the plating to bubble, the Tissot buckle is still in very good shape so you will get the strap as well. Very much a watch for the Tissot, Omega collector so I will start this auction at R500 and they can decide on its true value.
NB. I reserve the right to close this auction, delete suspect bidders and this is for serious bidders only.
