A very old Chocolate "Tjoklat - Chocolade" tin from the Netherlands, with the inscription above and the manufacturers immprint on the base. With the famous cameo embossed on the lid.
Tjoklat was a chocolate factory that was founded as a public limited company by Willem Cornelis Sickesz junior (1886-1971) on June 2, 1924 in Amsterdam . The original name of the factory was Holland(sch)-Zwitsersche Chocoladefabriek Amsterdam. 
The factory was located at Schinkelkade 60-69 on the corner with Vaartstraat. 
The head office was housed in the same building with an entrance at Vaartstraat 84. 
The main products were chocolate bars and pastilles (chocolates).
After the war, the factory became famous with the Tjoklat mark. The factory changed its name to Tjoklat-Fabriek NV Amsterdam in 1950. The Bakelite boxes were replaced by embossed tin boxes. 
Condition: An antique tin that has seen some use, uncleaned, as is.
