Vintage! Traditional Valiha Madagascar Musical Instrument With Strings.

This stunningly carved 19 string Valiha Tube Zither is from Madagascar, an island off the Southeast coast of Africa, made from a local species of bamboo. It is considered the national instrument of Madagascar, although it originated in Indonesia, it was brought to the Island during the 9th Century. The happy and melodious sound it makes is a combination of zither, balalaika and classical guitar.
