VINTAGE WAR-TIME J.GROSSMITH PHUL NANA FACE POWDER BOX
Vintage Phul Nana face powder box (empty). Manufactured by J Grossmith and Son Perfumers in London between 1939 and 1945. Made from cardboard and featuring an exotic Indian dancing lady, with lithographed flowers on the sides of the box. It contained "PINK" powder as inscribed on the side of the box. The Phul Nana (meaning lovely flower in Hindi) fragrance was launched in 1891.
