Vintage white enamelware Billy can (or food/milk carrier bucket, often historically referred to in South Africa as a vet emmertjie or enamel pail) Such traditional pieces of enamel kitchenalia were commonly used for camping, boiling water over open fires or storing household goods and provisions.  It displays characteristic minor chips and wear along the enamel edges typical of vintage and antique kitchen ware.  The bottom has also been soldered and there is still a hole visible.
