VINTAGE WOODEN POSTAGE STAMP BOX RARE

Beautiful mid-century design using light varnished wood (traditionally sycamore).

In an unusual, ingenious design, the lid opens and lifts the three-compartment stamp tray to slope for easy dispensing. All parts sit flush with each other in a smooth rounded rectangle shape. There are no metal hinges. The only metal is a very simple handle.

The finish has some scuffs and scratches associated with age but this doesn't detract from the original beauty of this box.

Length: 24cm. Width: 11.5cm. When opened, the full width is approx 15cm.

Each stamp compartment measures 8cm by 6cm.
