Those Fret markers  replace  the "tapes on the fingerboard" method of teaching fingerings to beginning string students. Designed to save time for the classroom teacher, or the private studio teacher by eliminating the time it takes to apply tapes to the fingerboard and the margin of error created by slipping and fraying tapes.

These "stickers" do not leave a residue like tippex does. Portions can also be torn off - after the yellow line, after the blue line - once the student has mastered first position. 

This has made such a difference for my students. They can see but cannot feel the lines so they have to concentrate on listening to get the correct intonation.

If you have a music notation program, write the notes in colors corresponding to the correct position - much easier for younger children.
