The revolutionary new design that brings the sensation of surfing, snow and sand boarding to the streets. The Viperboard is a totally new concept of boarding which was launched around the globe in late 2006, and now the latest craze to hit the UK, America and Australia is available in South Africa. The product is not yet in all stores across the country but will be soon.

At first the board looks almost impossible to ride, but once you see someone riding one you just have to try it out for yourself. The board differs from a conventional skateboard in that both feet stay on the board the entire time that you ride the board.

The Viperboard makes use of the human body sport theory and skilful mechanical principle to enable you to move forward. These movements are carried out by you swinging your waist and thighs in the shape of an "S" which enables you to move forward like a viper. More advanced riders can create the same effect by using only their feet.

There is no restriction as to who can ride the Viperboard; it has even been recommended to sportsmen and sportswomen to increase their balance and in turn improve their game.

The Viperboard is made up of front and rear foot stands which are joined by a shaft, allowing each end to tilt individually. It has two wheels; one on the front and one on the back of the board which spin around in either direction like a shopping trolley, which enables you to spin in a full circle within a 2m radius.

The product comes with a full 3 month warranty, perishables are not included such as PU wheels.

Learning to ride the Viperboard

1. Place The Viperboard on a very slight downward slope. Place your lead foot in the centre of the front platform of the board and position the board so that it is level with the ground.
2. Give a push with your back foot and place that foot in the centre of the back platform.
3. Immediately after pushing off, start twisting at your hips. Allow your shoulders to get in on the twisting motion and let this upper body motion transfer into your feet. Your feet should be moving in opposite directions.

Alternate Ways of Propelling The Viperboard

• Alternative 1: Use only your back foot to create a fishtail (back and forth) motion.
• Alternative 2: Move both feet back and forth in the same direction at the same time.

Safety

When you become displaced from your Viperboard, the 2-wheel design causes the board to tip over and meet the ground. This feature minimizes undesirable falls.

Always wear a helmet and other safety gear such as kneepads, elbow pads and wrist guards.
