The Vodafone 3.6 Mbps HSDPA/ 3G Broadband Mobile Connect Card What is it? The Vodafone HSDPA/ 3G Broadband Mobile Connect Card is a PCM/CIA card which is small and nifty to take with you. After loading the software on your laptop, mobile broadband access is only one click away. Who is it for? The easy-to-use Vodafone 3G Broadband Mobile Connect Card can be used by all Vodacom customers on a laptop with a PCM/CIA slot. Persons working in business such as SMMEs, as well as those customers working in corporate business environments will find this device invaluable when in or out-of-the-office to stay connected at all times. Customers at home, as well as home-based businesses, will find the Vodafone 3G Broadband Mobile Connect Card advantageous as there is no waiting period for installation, access is an easy process and the mobile broadband capability offers mobile high-speed access. How does it work? The Vodafone 3G Broadband Mobile Connect Card (VMCC) is 3G HSDPA enabled and acts as a modem to connect you to the Internet via Vodacom's 3G HSDPA network by slotting into the PCM/CIA slot of your Microsoft Windows based laptop and acts as a modem to connect you to the Internet via Vodacom's 3G HSDPA network. Where 3G HSDPA coverage is not available, customers will be able to use Vodacom's GPRS/EDGE network that which covers most of South Africa. You only pay for the amount of data that you send and/or receive and not the time you spend connected, saving on dial-up charges. It's simple to use - included in the packaging you will receive a CD with the Vodafone dashboard software which allows you to easily connect to the network. Simply insert the CD into the laptop's CD-Rom and following the easy installation steps. After the Vodafone dashboard software is installed onto your laptop, insert the VMCC into the PCM/CIA slot of your laptop, and activate the Vodafone dashboard by clicking on the icon. You'll be required to insert the SIM card PIN. Then click "Connect" on the Vodafone dashboard software. You can get the benefit of an always available Internet connection from your desktop by utilising a non-expensive PCM/CIA card adapter, available on request. Utilising the on-screen Vodafone dashboard for Microsoft Windows allows you to: The volume of data you send and receive is presented on the Vodafone dashboard software, enabling you to control data costs and usage. The usage information is presented in megabytes and not as a financial value. It is an indication and may vary slightly from what appears on your bill. Usage Counter Disclaimer The software accompanying the Vodafone Mobile Connect USB Modem provides a "usage counter", aimed at giving an indication of the mobile data (in MB) that you've sent and received. Please note that the usage counter gives as accurate a reflection of data usage as possible, but accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
