Voice over IP 

Voice over IP is taking over the world and I also like the idea of calling for free… The problem I’ve experienced so far is the fact that you always have to use those cumbersome headsets. When it would be possible to use your standard phone for this application, the experience of VoIP would be much more like the real POTS (plain old telephone system). Especially a cordless phone with the base station near the pc would be nice. Furthermore it would be desirable to be able to use your normal phone keys to control

Here’s how to set Chat-Cord up:

1. Insert the red plug of Chat-Cord to the PC Microphone jack and the green plug to the PC Speakers jack.
2. Unplug your phone cable from the wall and connect it with the phone-set to Chat-Cord phone plug through the extension adaptor provided with Chat-Cord.
3. If you have external Speakers, connect its plug to the green socket of Chat-Cord and turn on the speakers. It will enable you to use the speakers as usual, to hear rings of incoming calls and to let others hear the conversation if you desire so.
4. Pick up the phone and run the Audio test of your dialer to make sure that you’ve properly connected all the plugs and in order to set your volume levels.
