Von der Capstadt ins Land Der Maschukulumbe.

By Dr. Emil Holub, Published by Alfred Holder 1889

Reisen im Sudlichen Afrika in den Jahren 1883-1887, First edition, consist of 36 parts (complete). Numerous plates & illustrations, some occasional wear specially the first issues from each book, with quarter leather morocco folders with wear, 2 volumes, this work has come out in book form as well but this edition is extremely scarce and hard to find at a good price, only for the solitary collector!

Holub's account of his second expedition to South Africa. He arrived at the Cape in 1883 with the intention to traverse the continent to Egypt. He crossed the Zambesi west of Victoria falls and explored the area between it and the Kafue. However, the expedition was forced to return when it was attacked by the Mashukulumbwe.
