Katrien woon 'n skryfkursus onder leiding van die beroemde skrywer Chrisjan Swart op haar gesin se ou buurplaas by. Sy koester al jare 'n wrok teen Chrisjan se familie - hulle was immers verantwoordelik daarvoor dat haar pa sy plaas verloor het. Sy besef egter ook sy is nog net so verlief op Chrisjan soos destyds.

Hoewel hulle mekaar beter leer ken, vind Katrien dit vreemd dat Chrisjan huiwer om haar aan sy ouers voor te stel. Toe dit uiteindelik gebeur, spat die vonke behoorlik, en beide Chrisjan en Karien besluit 'n verhouding tussen hulle is gedoem. 'n Verrassingsbesoek laat haar opnuut in haar drome glo.
