This is an awesome portable fridge, it's the size of a large cooler-box and a bit.
It will normally fit on the back seat of a sedan, but not the boot.
It has it's own compressor, capable of running off of a 12V / 24V DC power supply or a 220V AC power supply.
When both power supplies are plugged in, the 220V takes preference until the 220V power is switched off.
The 12V power supply cable plugs into a lighter socket.
It is the perfect fridge to keep those items in that need to survive a power failure when at home, and the perfect fridge to take with you travelling if you have the in-car space for it.
The fridge itself is digitally programmable to sustain a temperature range of +10 to -18 degrees centigrade.
It is wrapped in a protective cover that does a great job at helping to insulate the fridge to keep power consumption low.
Yes, I still have the manual for the fridge.
- Overall capacity: 60 litres
- Rated current: 12 V(dc) = 7A
- Rated current: 24 V(dc) = 3A
- Rated current:100-240V(ac) = 1.3 to 0.7A
- Cooling capacity: +10 ° C to -18 ° C (+50 ° F to 0 ° F)
- Dimensions: 630 x 582 x 360
- Weight: 21.6kg
I am including the WAECO CoolPower 39 calcium battery in this deal as the two work together well.
This battery, when fully charged can run the fridge at 1 degrees centigrade for about 36 hours inside, and 18 hours outside in the sun.
The battery has 2 silver points on top which you are supposed to attach a 12V battery charger to.
The battery is not designed for providing boost power, so do not try to start your car with it.
The above is the top-down view - contents is 2L milk, 2L coca-cola and a quart of beer.
The grey box to the left is intented to keep fruit / margarine / "stuff that does not require full refrigeration".
The control panel is far left, and the light is just right of the control panel.
The lid can be easily removed and slotted on the other way round.
The silver panels are part of the fridge - cover.
That red thing on the bottom is a 30cm ruler for perspective.
The above is the control panel:
- Red on/off button
- Orange SET button (puts it into temperature set mode)
- Blue UP button (For adjusting desired temperature while in set mode)
- Blue DOWN button (For adjusting desired temperature while in set mode)
The above is the fridge with the lid closed, but the cover open.
The above is the fridge with the cover closed, and the battery.
The above is the 12 volt battery, with the fridge plugged into the battery's lighter socket.
You press the red button and the LCD displays the battery's current voltage (potential).
I love this fridge, I hunted for one for 3 months straight and it works perfectly and is very quiet.
It was purchased in 2008.
I keep the battery charged in-case we have have those wonderful power failures again.
Yes, it is in perfect working order.
But, I need the cash, and I don't use it for camping anymore as I live in Munster, which is like camping.
I have included the option of using a courier for R650, but we can make another plan, give me a shout.
