John Louw is a known artist associated with 3D copper wall art, particularly from the 1970s, often depicting animals and nature scenes, as well as other themes like stagecoaches and Native American scenes.
John Louw was born on January 26, 1949, in Namaqualand, South Africa. At the age of 18, he suffered an accident that resulted in paralysis of all four limbs, leading him to become a "mouth painter" and joining the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (AMFPA).
AMFPA artists works were often turned into prints or reproduced in other formats for fundraising purposes. With Louws permission some of his works were reproduced in a more affordable commercial format to reach a broader audience and the curio market.
