The Kingdom
Oscar winners Jamie Foxx and Chris Cooper team up with Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman to ignite the screen in this high-intensity action thriller. A team of elite FBI agents sent to Saudi Arabia to solve a brutal mass murder, find themselves in a race against time to find a killer before he strikes again. Out of their element, under heavy fire and trusting no-one, the team must join forces with their Saudi counterparts. As these unlikely allies begin to unlock the secrets of the crime, the team is led into a heart-stopping, do-or-die confrontation.

Born On The Fourth Of July
War drama based on the autobiographical book by Ron Kovic. Tom Cruise plays Kovic, a man brought up in the God-fearing All-American tradition, the perfect material to fight for the US cause in Vietnam. However, nothing could prepare the young Marine for the horrors of the frontline and he returns home paralysed from the chest down. Embittered, Kovic goes into a self-destructive downward spiral, until he finds new direction by joining the anti-war movement.

Casualties Of War
Michael J. Fox and Sean Penn star in this drama based on real events that occurred during the Vietnam War. On patrol with the hard-nosed Sergeant Meserve (Penn), US infantryman Private Eriksson (Fox) refuses to join in when Meserve and the other soldiers kidnap, rape and murder a Vietnamese girl (Thuy Thu Le). Eriksson's stance then puts him in a dangerous position when the patrol returns to base, as the other soldiers get increasingly worried that he might report them. The cast also includes Don Harvey, John C. Reilly and John Leguizamo.

Black Hawk Down
From acclaimed director Ridley Scott comes the gripping true story about bravery, camaradarie and the complex reality of war. Black Hawk Down stars an exceptional cast including Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor and Eric Bana. In 1993, an elite group of American Rangers and Delta Force soldiers are sent to Somalia on a critical mission to capture a violent warlord whose corrupt regime has led to the starvation of hundreds of thousands of Somalis. When the mission goes quickly and terribly wrong, the men find themselves outnumbered and literally fighting for their lives.

Jarhead
Young recruit Swofford (Jake Gyllenhaal) joins up with the US Marines (nicknamed 'Jarheads' because of their distinctive haircuts) on the eve of the 1990 Gulf War. After a brutal spell in boot camp, during which Swofford and his fellow recruits are systematically geared up for the conflict, the Marines are dispatched to the deserts of the Persian Gulf to take part in a war that sees them required to do very little in the way of fighting. Bored and frustrated in the middle of nowhere, the young soldiers resort to a macabre sense of humour as they wait for the war to happen to them.

Gardens Of Stone
Francis Ford Coppola's impressive return to the subject of the Vietnam War is a poignant and contemplative companion piece to his epic masterwork 'Apocalypse Now'. Set in 1968, the film reunites Coppola with Godfather star James Caan, who plays a disillusioned army sergeant stationed at Fort Meyers Arlington Cemetery and views the war in Vietnam as unwinnable, despairing at the dead arriving daily for burial from the front lines. This powerful drama from one of American cinema's most audacious filmmakers boasts a towering performance by Caan, and a superb supporting cast, including Anjelica Huston, James Earl Jones, Mary Stuart Masterson and DB Sweeney.
