81 illustrations being b/w photos, reproductions of paintings by war artists including the author and sketch maps. The story of the soldier "Warrior" on the Western Front. Signed by the author on the title page with no other name or insc. Born in Scotland in 1890 Hutchison attended Sandhurst and at the outbreak of the Great War was serving with the Argyl & Sutherland Highlanders and subsequently the Machine Gun Corps; the formation of which has been attributed as being his suggestion. He won the D.S.O. and the Military Cross and following the war formed the Old Contemptibles Assoc. and took a leading role in setting up the British Legion.
