Offered for sale is a large Wedgwood majolica plate in a dark green tin glaze. The decorative motif embossed on the front of the plate is scrolling strawberry vines contrasted with a textured and pitted background. The plate is unmarked on the back but most likely made by Wedgwood circa 1920's.The rear of the plate has stilt marks from the stacking of the plate on a metal grid/support during the firing of the plate in a kiln .This is an earthenware item with an undulating rim/border ,slightly convex shape and round foot ring.
