A decorative Royal Doulton cabinet plate titled The Mayor, featuring a richly coloured portrait of a civic dignitary in traditional dress, complete with fur collar, ceremonial chain and regalia. The border is beautifully illustrated with scrolls, goblets and symbolic items, all framed within a fine brown line.
The artwork style and presentation are typical of Royal Doultons late 20th century decorative character series plates.
The reverse carries the Royal Doulton crowned lion backstamp with pattern number D.6983, confirming English manufacture.
Diameter 27cm.
Condition is excellent. No chips, cracks or restoration noted. Colours remain strong and the glaze is clean with minimal signs of handling.
