about the artist

Born in Namibia in 1958 Joy devoted many years to her Ceramic Studio in KZN. After moving to Kini Bay near Port Elizabeth she had the perfect opportunity to devote her time to painting. Although she loves to paint in Oils, the quick drying time of Acrylic has been her motivation in working primarily in Acrylic paint. This has led to some experimenting with impasto and palette knife work which she really enjoys as she has always loved impressionism. Her biggest inspiration is the sound of the sea and the incredible view of the ocean and breath-taking sunsets… She started selling her artwork on Bidorbuy in 2011 at affordable prices in order to fund her canvas and paint. A long list of happy customers, as can be seen from her ratings, is proof of her aim to please. She paints landscapes, seascapes, flower studies & still life and does portraits on commission – from photographs.
