Situated in the heart of the Komati Valley, Doornkop is malaria free and set in a private reserve of rolling hills and grassland savannahs. The Komati River and Swartwater Spruit wind their way through the reserve and fishing is available for both yellowfish and trout. Wildlife includes zebra, impala, waterbuck, giraffe and ostrich as well as 203 different bird species. Make time to visit the interesting ruins and discover the waterfalls and forests in the valley.

Resort Facilities/Activities

Fishing (Fly fishing) - In this regard guests attention are drawn to the resorts Fishing Rules which state, amongst others, that only recognized fly- fishing equipment may be used for fishing and that no other fishing tackle, spinners and bait will be allowed. Furthermore, that only barbless flies may be used which are available for sale at reception. Guests will be charged a fee, per kg, for all fish kept. A complete list of the applicable rules can be obtained from reception at the resort.
