La Rochelle is surrounded by lush, manicured gardens and the indigenous bush of St Lucia, close to the St Lucia Estuary, a world renowned site boasting the greatest concentration of hippo and crocodiles in South Africa.The estuary is a fishermans paradise with game fishing, rock and surf fishing, fly-fishing and spear fishing. In addition, beachgoers can enjoy bird watching, boating, sun bathing, volley ball, picnics and relaxing walks. Turtle breeding season starts in October and continues through to April the following year while whale-watching season is from June until December.The comfortably appointed, self contained and fully equipped units have fans, private braai areas, a chest freezer and television.
