Lovely vintage white porcelain wash basin and pitcher from the early 1900's with makers marks underneath. The wash basin is marked "ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA JOHNSON Bros. ENGLAND". The marking used is from 1883 -1913. Basin measures 35.5cm in diameter and has a depth of 12cm. There is a lot of crazing on the basin (from age) and also some blemishes which might come out if you soak it in Jik. It has a lovely leaf pattern on the side of the basin. No chips and cracks. The pitcher is marked 'ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA ALFRED MEAKIN Ltd. ENGLAND". The marking used on the pitcher was used between 1897 and 1930. Stands 30cm in height from lip to base and has a wheat design around the upper section. Small chip on the base, and 8mm hairline crack on lip of jug. The porcelain on the handle is rather rough from years of usage. A wonderful collectible still in very good condition considering the date of manufacture!! Items weigh over 4kg so postage will be R80
