Large and glorious glass item from Whitefriars Glass.
Designed by James Hogan between 1940 and 1946 and as sin production until 1959. this large lobed vase in listed as pattern 9250.
the vase is of sapphire blue glass which is shown most beautifully at the thickest areas of the vase.
the vase foot is oval in shape and this is followed up the vase sides to an oval rim. here are two lobes which run up each side and a front and back love at lower level. the rim undulates with the lobes, rising higher at he front and back.
the glass is extremely thick and so the vase is very heavy. 3.5kg!

the vase is in great vintage condition for its age. there is a couple tiny flea bite at the foot and some surface scratches under the base
