Today, I’m pleased to offer a magnificent wicker armchair of impressive proportions, with some lovely decorative carving on the solid wood panels that span the distance between the legs on all four sides of the piece. The substantial armrests on this piece sweep down to terminate in attractive wicker whorls. The removable cushion cover alternates dark blue stripes, with lighter stripes made up of white and pale blue checks. This is one of 2 splendid chairs that I’m putting up for auction this week. Please see my other listings for details on the equally lovely captain’s chair. Please email me for more photographs if you’d like to see the piece in greater detail.
Actual dimensions on the chair are; floor to centre top of seat back 90cm, edge to edge on handgrips the piece is 84cm wide, floor to top of seat cushion measures 50cm, and the seat cushion is 55cm deep by 55cm wide.
The wickerwork is in perfect condition, and this chair is every bit as comfortable as it is visually appealing.
There is one small area of damage on the outer corner of the left front leg (facing the chair) – a small chip.
The dimensions and weight of this piece will probably make normal postage impractical, but I can explore this further if requested. If the buyer lives within reasonable driving distance from Durban, I will be happy to deliver for a nominal fee, to be agreed at conclusion of sale with the winning bidder. If the buyer lives beyond these environs, they will have to make their own arrangements for collection. I will assist by packing/wrapping the item, and being available for the collection thereof.
